Thank you, thank you!

Alison and I are overwhelmed with gratitude at the gracious welcome you have all given to us. Your thoughtful notes, generous gifts, and promises to be praying for us are all precious treasures. We consider that Jesus himself has been wrapping his loving arms around us through all of you! And we can never thank you enough for all of you who have welcomed us home.

Pastor Brandon’s Transition

Reception for Pastor Brandon and Family

Sunday, May 26

2 PM

Fellowship Hall

I imagine it came as quite a shock to all of you when Pastor Brandon announced this past Sunday that he has been called to serve the Lord as the senior pastor of First Baptist Soddy Daisy in Tennessee. It certainly was a shock to me when Brandon told me a few weeks back! I joked with him over the phone that the Lord decided to see how we’ll all handle swinging at his curve ball. As Butch Wheeler reminded all of us Sunday morning, it is the Lord who calls the pastor—and his timing is always perfect. As his servants, our job is to trust and follow. I am very proud of Pastor Brandon for his willingness to step out in faith and follow Jesus. I, for one, am praying that the Lord shows as much favor to him and Mary Elizabeth in their transition as he has to me and Alison in ours. Please come to the reception for Pastor Brandon and his family on Sunday, May 26 to show your love and appreciation for him and his ministry at Morningside.

Installation and Consecration Service

Installation and Consecration Service

Wednesday, May 22

6 PM

Sanctuary

By now, I trust you have all made plans to participate in the Installation and Consecration Service on Wednesday, May 22 at 6 pm. It will be a very important marker for us as a congregation. In this service we will, together as one body, dedicate ourselves and our families to the Lord’s service. We will be praying for each other—you for me and my family, and me for you and your families. You will hear me say often: If prayer is not a priority, we must believe we can do it all without the Lord. I know I can do nothing without Jesus! I believe you all feel the same. So, let us come together before him next Wednesday evening in worship and prayer to devote ourselves and our families to him. See you Sunday!
